Apify TikTok Scraper - Help

At a glance

The community member used a TikTok comment scraper and got about 500 comments from a video with 77,000 comments. They want to know which comments are being scraped, in what order, and if they can choose which comments to scrape.

The first community member responds that the "Max comments per post" setting can be changed to scrape a desired number of comments, even up to all 77,000. They note that scraping more than 500 comments can be slow. The comments are likely scraped in a mix of newest and most liked/replied order, but the exact order is unclear. The community member also mentions that the scraper does not currently offer a way to filter which comments are scraped, and suggests creating a ticket in the scraper's issues tab for more information.

The second community member asks if there is a way to know which specific comments were scraped, such as the first 200 or last 200, or a random selection. The third community member is unsure of the exact order, but guesses it is a mix of newest and most liked/replied comments, and that setting the scraper to 500 comments would likely get the first 500 comments shown on TikTok.

There is no explicitly marked answer in the comments.

Hello,
I used the TikTok comment scraper and got about 500 comments from a video with 77000 comments. Which comments are being scraped? In which order are the comments listed? Can I choose myself which comments should be scraped?

Hi With Tiktok Comments Scraper you can change the amount of comments that are going to be scraped by changing "Max comments per post" to your desired number, you can enter some big number like 999999 which would result in scraping every comment that there is but note that scraping more then 500 comments can be a bit slow.
Every comment should be scraped, excluding replies, but you can also scrape that by modyfing the "Max replies per comment" field in the Actors input.
TikTok Comments Scraper doesnt currently offer option to filter out different comment, you would have to do that on your own.

If you would have any other question specifically around this Actor i suggest you to create a ticket in the Actor's issues tab which you can find here:

Ok, thank you very much.
However, if I don't want to scrape all the comments, is there any way to find out which comments have been scraped? For example the first 200 or the last 200 or randomly selected?
Im not sure what is the specific order, you would have to ask in the issues tab but i would guess its mix of newest / most liked and replied comments. So setting for example 500 comments per post would most likely scrape the first 500 comments of that tiktok shows.
