Only latest version should be tagged as "latest"

At a glance

The community member is experiencing an issue with the "latest" tag on the Apify platform, where all versions of their application are tagged as "latest", which they find confusing. They have two questions: 1) Would Apify consider automating the removal of previous "latest" tags, and 2) What do they recommend to achieve this behavior using the API.

In the comments, another community member suggests that the "latest" tag is just an informational tag and that the community member can manually remove it from previous versions by selecting the version and clicking the "Tag" button. The community member acknowledges this and says they will just ignore the manual tag.

In most applications (like github), adding a tag like "latest" to a new version/release removes that tag from the previous one, so that only one version/release is tagged as "latest".
This is not the case on Apify where all my versions are tagged as "latest", which obviously makes no sense.

So i have 2 questions:
  • Would you consider automating the removal of previous tags on the platform?
  • What do you recommend to achieve this behavior using the API?

Hi @Jerome
Would you consider automating the removal of previous tags on the platform?
If you are addressing your screenshot, you can just select the version , then click on Tag button and delete the latest label from it and save it (as it is optional).

Version/release is tagged as "latest".

There is always one build of the Actor with specific tag. across all the versions. The latest that you see is just a information about tag that will be used when you build the version.
Hi @Pepa J , thanks for your answer.
I guess you are refering to the build sreen, which indeed makes more sense.
I'll just ignore the manual tag than
